In the early days of Rent there was a girl who faked a life-threatening illness in order to get close to cast members and other fans while waiting on the rush line. It was this whole elaborate thing where she was slipping into comas and a "friend" sent e-mails updating everyone on her condition... it turned out to be total shit. This American Life did a story on it a few years ago.

Thanks for that. For some reason I was thinking of another LJ faker and assumed it was them (the person who supposedly died on 9/11). I didn't know this one was so recent!

Ahahahahah, NYTW Roger makes me wet myself. He's so... not living. Ever. At all. My favorite thing ever is his completely emotionless "Noo..." Like he really couldn't be bothered.
