One year later. . .
In honor of the year anniversary of the last day of Gatecon 2008, I finally got some pics together. This post will have the auction and the next post, day 3 of RDA’s panel.
I didn’t think RDA was going to be at the auction so it was quite the pleasant surprise. The first thing up was an autographed Sea Shepherd baseball cap. RDA made some remark about how he didn’t understand why anyone would want it after it was ruined with writing on it. He seemed surprised that it went for $400 and he gave her a big hug with it.
It only went up from there!
Can’t remember what the first doodle went for but it was a good chunk of change and RDA was obviously stunned!
I’m sure it was worth it! ;)
These guys were funny. There were some Stargate art posters that were not going for a whole lot compared to the RDA things. So they said’ “Look RDA touched them!” and rubbed them on him as he walked by. Immediately the bid went up! LOL

I had the 70-200mm lens on the camera here and he was two people away from me. I could have reached out and touched him but. . . I was literally leaning back into the person beside me lap to try to take the pic! LOL

I can’t remember exactly what he said here, but it went some thing like. . .
Pointing to Don Davis, “Ah, good ole Don . . . A bald man”; pointing to CJ, “another bald man”; pointing to himself, “a maybe soon to be bald man?”; pointing to AT, “a Beautiful woman” "No man at all"; then pointing to MS, “A not so beautiful woman!” "A wanna be man!" Thanks dieastrafor jogging my memory! That so cracked me up when he said that!

It ended up going for over $4000! But it did include the lanyard!
If a RDA doodle can go for over $4000, imagine what the shirt off of HIS back would be worth! But alas, no! We had to put up with seeing Dan Payne. :D
