Pingbacks? Reposts? Whut?
What is this new garbage about stuff being posted directly to facebook and twitter? If I want my stuff there, I'll put it there. I'm a ficwriter, and this has me concerned as to the safety of my writing. (I don't want my family reading my RPS!!!!) So what happens now and how do we deal with it

Um....yeah! I'm in the HP fandom and most of us are pretty darned ticked that LJ, in it's desire to be all things to all people, has taken this step. We are inundating LJ with a lot of complaints about the whole issue and they are well-aware of the problem and have stated that they are trying to find a solution. You can go to your settings page and make your site 'friends only' if you haven't already. That will help. Most of the authors I know are stating that they do not wish others to link their sites or comments. Not sure if that will solve the issue entirely, but it will slow it down a bit. I was asked for a link this morning and I had to say no because of all this fuss. I felt bad doing it, but you do what you gotta do.
