[The antidote that Owen had worked on, had been administered and once there was a good certainty that Jack was responding to it, he'd shooed off people he knew needed some rest or at least a hot meal.

Speaking of rest, Jack was dozing and thus barely aware that someone had crept into his room on spidery legs. At the sound of Saya's voice, he looked up and over at her, blue eyes still dull from the suffering of the past couple of days.]

[She slid into the bed with him, her arms around his chest in a parody of a loving embrace. It was the kind of thing that would have suited Jack; her skin was warm, warmer than a human's, but she wasn't offering any kind of pain, but there was enough strength in her arms to stop him from fighting her]
