Sam and Peter's apartment, late Saturday morning

Normally Peter was all for sleeping in on Saturdays - or any day when he had Sam next to him - but on this particular Saturday he had errands to run. Something he'd been working on had finally clicked into place, and Peter wanted to make sure he had everything he needed so he could feel confident in telling Sam what it was

Sam was awake, but he hadn't gotten out of bed yet, far too comfortable in his warm cocoon of blankets. He only had a few weeks left before school started, so he was trying to enjoy every late morning he still had. He was aware that Peter was missing, but maybe if he stayed put, Peter would come back to bed too whenever he got back.

Seeing that Sam was still asleep, Peter left the food in the kitchen. He then changed his shirt for one he'd brought home with him, then covered the shirt up with a zip-up hoodie. Surprise thus hidden, Peter went into the bedroom and tried crawling into bed next to Sam.

Sam smiled as soon as he felt Peter get into the bed, and slipped his arms around him. "Oh good, it's you," he said, cracking his eyes open for just a moment. "I was hoping you weren't someone trying to break in."

"Wouldn't blame 'em for wanting to get into bed with you," Peter said. He wrapped his arms around Sam in return. "'course I'd have to kick the ass of anyone who tried."
