"What do you want?"
"Huh?" Sanada was spouting nonsense again, Nozawa thought as he put down his book and scooted over to make some space on the bench for the other boy.
"What do you want," Sanada repeated, sitting down beside him. "It's your birthday."
"Oh." So Sanada had remembered. "Yeah, it is."
"Well?"
Nozawa considered saying 'you', but decided not to (since Sanada is always expected to brag about anything that concerned himself and Nozawa). "Nothing, really," Nozawa decides, picking up his book to avoid looking at Sanada's expecting expression.
"Come on, I need to have an idea." If Sanada was pouting, Nozawa couldn't see it.
"But there isn't really anything I want in particular."
"But I don't know what to get you," Sanada admitted.
"You don't have to get me anything. You already spent all your money on those paired rings you got us for Christmas, didn't you?" Nozawa pointed out, never looking up from his book.
"But Christmas and your birthday are two completely different occasions."
Nozawa sighed into his book. "You shouldn't spend all your money at once."
"And you shouldn't be the one who's always giving," Sanada huffed, crossing his arms across his chest. "Let other people do things for you sometimes. You should learn from Hasshi, who's always mooching off of the sempai."
"Oh." Maybe Sanada did have a point.
"...On second thought, don't be like Hasshi."
Nozawa can't help but laugh at that. He puts down his book again, leaning against Sanada's side. "Then, I want good food," he decides with a smile.
Sanada beams. "I'll treat you," he declares, wrapping an arm around Nozawa's shoulders. "Whatever you want. If you want expensive sushi, that's what we'll get."
"Then... Good sex," Nozawa continued casually.
Sanada blushed just as he'd expected. "Well... I guess I can give you that," the older boy said, sheepishly rubbing at the back of his head.
"This time I'll top."
Sanada’s jaw drops and Nozawa decides that he’d like to be more like Hasshi in the future.
