I'm not sure what you're trying to tackle here. Are you trying to understand why people to go to bars or why people get completely trashed? Your (hypothetical) scenario is pretty specific, and not at all like the experience most have on a typical saturday at a bar.

this definitely was not a tackling of a "typical" saturday night. this was trying to analyse getting trashed by trying to epitomise the idea and the scenarios that might occur because of it.

i've moved on from why people go to bars. i have all the answers i need right now about that; i am now moving on to why people get black-out trashed.

what do you think? why do people get wasted?

I think the post below is on to something - I don't think most people set out to get wasted - but one thing leads to another...

It does allow a lot of people to have more fun. You can get away with stuff you normally couldn't by blaming the alcohol. Some people will never be able to dance in front of other people without a couple drinks. And how boring would keroke bars be without the booze? Sometimes people want to act a fool, or have sex with somebody even if they're really ugly and smell a little like cheese. Most people can't let themselves do that sober.

It's also something pro-active you can do to alter your state of mind. When you're really upset and feel powerless to do anything about it drinking will alter your state of mind. Changes are not for the better, but that doesn't seem very important at the time.
