Tales of woe and lost books

Oct 31, 2009 04:53

I'm making a spreadsheet of all the books that were in that "lost in transit" package that I may or may not receive from Japan (please Jesus, I don't know if you agree with BL, but I'd totally love that package back. *wibbly eyes*). This list doesn't include anything that I didn't take to Japan, and it's not complete (damn you DMP for having a ( Read more... )

Ugh, that sucks! I noticed when I was packing my stuff that I had quite a few of your BL novels. So if you're missing any of those, just wait and let me check. Of course they are also being sent sea mail so it may be awhile. XD Hopefully, the boxes will get here before Christmas and then I can just send them to you when I go home. And don't give up on your missing box yet. It could just be delayed somewhere. I have a feeling it will turn up eventually.

I'm praying Dad, I really am. I'm not completely forlorn, but if I don't hear anything near Christmas (and if I have the money), I think I'll try to find some deals to replace everything. The $700 estimate was based on the wholesale price, and maybe I can find some deeply discounted stuff on garagesalejapan or YaoiClub.

I need a job so I can come over there! I really miss you and Mom.

We miss you, too!! ♥ Come visit us! You can get Mom to cook for you so it will be really cheap. XD

I was going to suggest trying to get some of the books secondhand if your box doesn't turn up. You might check used bookstores, too. Some of the ones in Louisville have a really big manga section, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same in Atlanta. I've picked up some yaoi ones there for really cheap.

*hugs you* I hope they are just VERY LATE rather than lost.

The shipping label was peeled/pulled off in transit, so right now, it's lost. I'm hoping it made it to Atlanta, just because there won't be too many 21kg packages from Japan in the missing package center. I don't care if they go into it, because all the books in there (well, most of them) are English translations, so there's nothing illegal about them. The doujinshi package, which might have been pushing it, has already arrived.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed though!

Oh sweetie. Thats horrible! I would be so sad to lose so many books. I do hope they show up eventually. At least it shoule be easy for you to identify the stuff in the box if it soes turn out to be in the lost and found. Hopefully they don't send it back to Japan.

I hope it turns up. *crosses fingers*

Haha, could you imagine giving a list like that to the postman? I mean, I do have it all methodically listed out in a spreadsheet, so it would be very easy to understand, but I pity the poor fella who would have to go through that book pile! All the covers have pretty boys in...interesting positions on them. Fun times ( ... )

Well if it doesn't turn up, make an amazon wishlist and maybe we can all get you christmas presents from it. :)
