A quote that HAS to be used: “Isn’t there a law against that?”
Isn't there a law against that?
They looked at each other over the candle that was burning in the middle of the table. Seeing as it was Valentines Day, the restaurant was packed. But he had gone out of his way to make sure that he had a table booked at that particular restaurant on that particular night. He had once overheard her telling DiNozzo how much she enjoyed that restaurant.
So, there they sat, looking at each other. Her eyes were warm, and she had a smile on her face. Her left hand was rested on top of his right one.
“Would you like to order a dessert, Kate?” He asked her, reaching over and tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
She had a playful smile on her face, and Gibbs instantly wondered what he had gotten himself into. “Certainly.” Kate stood up slowly and, not taking her eyes off Gibbs, walked over to the counter. He could barely make out the words, “Hi, could I please have two chocolate mousses - to go?” He watched as she took out her wallet, and paid the entire bill. She then turned, and walked back to the table, and when her eyes met his, she smiled.
“You didn’t have to pay, Kate.” He told her as she sat back down.
She grinned, and replied, “It’s not a problem. I hope you don’t mind,” She said, placing her hand on top of his again, “I got dessert to go. We can enjoy it better… at home.” She had a knowing look in her eyes, and Gibbs felt his throat constrict.
“I-Isn’t there a law against that?” He choked out, losing all sense of his regular Gibbs-composure.
She just smiled in response, and her eyes left his only for a moment when the waiter came to the table with a brown paper bag. “Thank you.” She said to him, before turning back to Gibbs. “Ready to go?”
