Greenhouse

The greenhouse came late last night. I just spent an hour or so wrestling with it to get it up. As many others have commented, the instructions are not very clear. The biggest problem was the the instructions do not say that the tension poles have to be bowed in order to get them into their slots and that they will stay bowed once the greenhouse ( Read more... )

Let's hope that will work to keep the greenhouse and the pond warm! It should do both. It should also keep a relatively high and stable amount of humidity, so as to lessen evaporation from the pond and make for healthier plants.

Depending on the extent of the bug problem, a few Drosera rotundifolia should love the warmth and humidity, and welcome a few wandering bugs for additional fertilizer.

I am hoping that having the greenhouse will mean that the pond and the air above it stays at a stable warm temp, so that Al can be outside regularly. Last year I built a make-shift greenhouse over his (much smaller) tub with some fence wire and greenhouse plastic, and that worked really well. But last winter was warmer.

I met a man today who a)looks a lot like you and b)has your wife's maiden name. It was weird.

That is odd.
Cool!

A part of me wants to think that most of the coldest parts of winter are over. I'm already prepping for spring, Getting some plants rooted and germinated early, etcetera.

Another part of me knows that it's forcasted to be very very cold in a few days.
