[ Ange never really feels the need to broadcast anything over the journals, as anti-social as she is and all. But today she's perhaps feeling a bit more bored or a bit more annoyed than usual, probably because of some recent arrivals. So she has actually taken the effort to speak up for once now, her voice as flat and deadpan as it always is. ]So, ( Read more... )

[ yup, she is rather frustrated and bitter. ]

So you're saying it's just some weird coping mechanism? The seven phases of grief or something like that?

Finding happiness in a place like this-- ridiculous. [ Her voice is a little snappy, since she does feel strongly on this subject, at least. Even if her opinion is pretty ridiculous. ]

How can you experience happiness while being a lab rat of sorts?

It's like people conveniently forget that we're held here against our will and experimented on.

The first chance I get, I'm killing the fuckers in charge and leaving.

Might want to first get the information on how to get back to our own worlds before killing them though, you know.

... That aside, I agree. They're acting as if it's a thing to be celebrated. Apparently they're just that happy to be nothing more than caged birds.

I know how to make the kind of bastards that run these operations talk.

So we have a little free reign. A long leash instead of a short one. Living as a lab rat is hell regardless.

Oh? You sound like you have something in mind already.

Don't worry, I know exactly what you mean. I'm tired of people just toying around with me all the time. No matter how much they're going to let us have the freedom to do whatever we want in the bounds of Luceti, I at the very least won't forget we're still completely trapped by them and forced into drafts and experiments and whatever ridiculous idea they come up with next.

That's right, there's no use in moping either, but surely there are better and more productive things to do than parties and.. well, all the other stuff you often hear about over the network.

Perhaps we would have been out of here already if people had at least been trying to work towards finding some sort of escape route or finding out more about this place during all the time people have been kidnapped here.

Oh, do you truly think so..? Because there are plenty of people who are just sitting around here. You just have to pay a little bit of attention to the network to know.

Plenty of people are growing complacent as we speak, in fact.

It could also be that they're merely waiting for the opportune moment. Sometimes it's easier to allow others believe you've grown complacent while in reality that isn't the case.

Oh, so you think they are just trying to deceive the Malnosso? I doubt the community as a whole just decided that someday behind the Malnosso's backs or whatever.

I'm afraid I can't speak for the community at large, but to think that at the very least, some among them have not considered such a thing could be seen as an insult to their intelligence.

To rush blindly into something without prior knowledge and information is tantamount to suicide. I would sooner bide my time than go looking for trouble.

... I suppose that's just where our ideas are fundamentally different then. I'd rather do anything at all than waste the rest of my days here as a lab rat.

Even if you call it a near attempt at suicide or whatever.

N-No! I don't want to be here whilst my friends are back in my world! I know when we return it will be as though we never left... B-But why wait?!

[She's actually getting a little worked up over this, not that she minds how other people spend their time here. If anything she might get involved in some of the parties herself, but...]

Apparently there have been attempts to escape before, but none of them were successful... Uhm, perhaps if we worked together, we could find a new way out? I would have to do some more reading at the library...

[ Ah, at least this is more the kind of spirit Ange likes to see - there's still something waiting for her back home too rather than just being stuck in this place, after all. ]

I'm glad to see not everyone here has succumbed to the parties and wasting time. [ And something about it sounds genuinely glad, even through her deadpan. ]

Yeah, I already heard that some attempts have failed before, but if we would just keep working towards it then one day we'd definitely have to reach it, right? And the more people that work on it the better.

I think the parties will help a few of us, some might find it comforting. Or perhaps distracting from the reality of the situation? I-I'm not sure. [Her words sort of trail of towards the end there into a mumble.] Some people need to keep their spirits up somehow after all.

Yes, with enough people and a proper drive I don't see how it can't be manageable! I-I already met someone named Touma-san who feels the same way, so perhaps we could work something out between the three of us?

See, that's the problem from the start-- shouldn't the idea that they might get to go home be enough to keep up people's spirits? For me personally getting out of this hellish place and back home is more than enough of a drive to work towards it, really, but apparently most people here don't even care about their home anymore.

[ At that second part she pauses though. ]

... Are you maybe talking about Kamijou Touma?
