[ Ange never really feels the need to broadcast anything over the journals, as anti-social as she is and all. But today she's perhaps feeling a bit more bored or a bit more annoyed than usual, probably because of some recent arrivals. So she has actually taken the effort to speak up for once now, her voice as flat and deadpan as it always is. ]So, ( Read more... )

It could also be that they're merely waiting for the opportune moment. Sometimes it's easier to allow others believe you've grown complacent while in reality that isn't the case.

Then perhaps I'll have to consider it. Observation and information would be crucial, though, as one doesn't want to repeat the same mistakes or take uninformed actions.

It certainly can't hurt to try, after all... and given that there isn't much to lose, it's easier to risk everything.

It could probably still be quite some trouble though. I don't think a lot of people in this place are used to or are willing to follow authority of any sort.

It's a rather chaotic bunch, don't you think?

A good tactician can manipulate the circumstances to make people believe their actions are of their own choosing while in truth, they're merely being guided into a course of action by taking away all other options. It usually helps when dealing with those who don't take orders or direction well.

Given those I've spoken to or seen, I'm inclined to agree. We do seem to be a bit of a rag-tag group...

... Ah, when you put it like that, it actually sounds a little bothersome. I don't really take too kindly to being manipulated or played around with as some sort of toy, I've already had enough bad experiences on that level.

It's actually incredibly bothersome, especially when there is more than one individual pulling the strings. There aren't many I've met who enjoyed it, myself included.

I much prefer the direct route -find something that strikes a chord with another individual and build a bond from there. Less bad blood and cause for mutiny later.

Now you're speaking my kind of language. If you manipulate people into doing the work for you, that just isn't right, is it? They're just human too, after all.

Compared to that building a bond sounds like more effort, but it's probably better.

But to the one doing the manipulating, those below them are nothing but puppets to be used and discarded at will.

When you think about it in terms of which requires more effort, it boils down to which you would prefer: shaky alliances built on coercion and lies that can crumble easily or strong ones which support each other and stand firm, not because they were coerced but because they want to.

Speaking from experience, I can say being used as a puppet or piece isn't exactly a pleasant experience at all.

And yeah, if you put it like that anyone would pick the latter, right?

Speaking from experience, I agree. It's why I prefer to avoid sinking to that level.

Not always. Some prefer to to do things the fastest and dirtiest ways possible, and should it mean stabbing another in the back at a later date, so be it.

... Hmph. I guess I was trying to leave people like that out of the question here, but.. yeah, I know there's plenty of people around like that too.

I personally already know too much people who thrive off betraying and hurting others.

Sadly, they're everywhere.

All in all, though, should you want help in uncovering the means through which to leave this place, I would be happy to offer assistance.

Sounds good to me. I already know some other people who want to work towards finding a way out of this place, so maybe if we all combine our work we might be able to actually do it if the group and effort is big enough.
