i mean, do you need info as reference for the story? like technical things? or how it feels to dance?
i can help, but i don't really under stand what you want.
also: is this an art school fic where one of the boys is a dance student? that sounds achingly familiar to the story i failed to finish in time for big bang, actually. huh.
I'm looking up all the technical things online, so pretty much just what it feels like to dance and such. So I have an idea, and a better understanding on how they feel. Also, maybe a bit what classes are like. Pretty much anything you'd think someone should know about dancing.
let's see, well, since i was strictly a ballet dancer, and now, learning other sorts of dance, i do not take formal classes, this is not all inclusive
( ... )
i have a limited knowledge of ballet/jazz/contemporary, gymnastic and some circus terms/tricks ect. it's small, but it's someting. (i'm mainly a jazz dancer)
Yay, thank you! Is there anything else you might think is helpful for someone whos never taken much dance and is writing a fic on it? I have a feeling this is going to be difficult, so really, anything helps, lol.
Um. I took a little bit of ballet and gymnastics (lol for cheerleading) and then mostly jazz/modern stuff , so it might not help that much? idk.
Warm up/stretching/training was totally a big deal. In addition to normal stretching, we had to do 200 sit-ups and 200 knee push-ups and run laps for warm up. And then we'd do the same after practice to cool down.
I guess it depends on your coach/choreographer, but some people are reeeaaaally strict. Specially when you're doing actual choreography and not just training. A mistake = 5 push-ups (not just for you, but for EVERYONE). It gets worse the closer you get to recital date. :\
So since they're going to art school, I assume they'll have auditions? Like, maybe first, there's group auditions where everybody is taught the choreography and they're picked off one by one. Then there's the solo one, where you get up and dance in front of a panel. Then there's a scary interview.
That's not from dance school! I was part of a dance troupe in high school and we had the (insanely spectacular) coach from hell and the hard-to-please upperclassmen (they made me look forward to being a senior)
The lessons I attended before joining were pretty relaxed, too, so when I auditioned for the troupe I was like, "oh shit" hahahah

Ahh, well that's good.
Seeing as your an actual dancer, I'm sure yours will turn out better anyway, haha. Are you almost done it?
