It may be found hereI'm currently engaged in somwhere between an AU fic and a where-I-play of Dragon Age Origins, but there are also links there to my Mass Effect 1/2/3. The main reason for writing these things is as an exercise to get better at the mechanics ( Read more... )

For what it's worth, I've been really enjoying your ME & DA fics. Looking forward to reading more as they appear :)

Thank you for your kind words! I hope you continue to enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them. :)

So I decided the other day that I was probably never going to play Dragon Age, and that being the case, that I might as well read the story. It's....interesting. I like it, but probably not as much as Mass Effect - but that may be a reflection of the actual story or my unfamiliarity with it. I kind of got whiplash when the love interest started turning into a love interest (at least I think that's what's going on) and it's kind of weird how all of these fantasy realms seem to behave like the England the Plantagenets would have recognised (which was actually something of a weird historical outlier/mishmash of Northern and Southern European systems), but it's diverting enough, and it probably isn't that much your fault that the storyline appears to be a loosely riveted together collection of clichés.

You also appear to have convinced me I want to attempt this task with The Secret World, giving the (ridiculously) silent protagonist a voice. This may take some time.

Hm. I must admit, I thought I'd telegraphed the love interest better than that. [eta; nope. Criticism *entirely* fair. Bug entered into metaphorical bug tracker; likely no fix plausible. Some papering over attempted.] I do suppose it's my fault for writing a teenage girl as first-person protagonist. Hopefully what I actually intend on doing with that plot is more interesting than usual, although it'll probably turn out as another horrible cliché.

The storyline *is* a loosely riveted collection of clichés - every time I've had Leliana say something about her motivations or plans that's completely unbelievable, it's a shoutout to the actual plot of the game - and I've modified the characters of Leliana and Morrigan pretty much out of recognition as is usual. (In particular, Morrigan is basically inverted).

I'd be fascinated to see this done with TSW.

Of course there's the secondary question of where I actually put anything I write once I've written it, CURSWiki having apparently met with an unfortunate programming-related accident...

It took approximately half an hour to get my wordpress account working, where by 'working' I include the functioning index page: I know basically no html.

CURSWiki will be fixed at some point.
