911 Caller:  "[Brief description of emergency].  Should I call an ambulance?"

Me:  "Well, ma'am, this is the... er... ambulance."

Seriously, why did you just call me at midnight to ask for a ride across campus?  And why did you then sound offended and surprised when I offered you an ambulance?  What were you really expecting when you called EMS?  Was our number just easier to find than that of the local cab companies ( Read more... )

Last Saturday, my SAR teammates and I had the privelege of attending the anniversary memorial service for hurricane victims at Crystal Beach.
