This is great. I don't think I ever read anyone's take on this particular incident and I enjoyed yours a lot!

Thanks! And, yeah, I was surprised to realize that no one had ever really tackled anything involving Marvin Nash. He always seemed to me to be really petulant that Freddy didn't remember meeting him, so I decided to write the meeting. :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

I enjoyed reading your take on Marvin and Freddy's backstory. I love expanding on the little glimpses of history we get here and there, it's like Tarantino provided the perfect set up for filling in the blanks.

I love that you've taken Marvin and written this moment - and by giving him this personality and illustrating this moment - the impression that Orange made upon him - then you've emphasised the reality of his death. I read this with the constant knowledge that he's going to die and how sad this is.

Fab!

That cocky little bastard is going to wind up bleeding in some back alley somewhere, and you do not want to be there when it happens.

This line makes it for me. Great story!
