For Capa.

It seemed to Alice that there was always someone hanging around the large waterfall, either swimming or dangling their feet in the water or simply loitering nearby. It was unsanitary, not to mention annoying when all she wanted was some peace and quiet ( Read more... )

He hadn't meant to stumble upon a mostly naked woman, although Capa expected if he tried to say that much as an excuse, it wouldn't come across very well. Especially since the mostly naked woman he'd ended up finding was Alice. Although he liked her, liked being around her, Capa suspected she was the type of woman who could -- and would -- kick his ass before he could even make up a lame excuse for checking out her breasts.

"Sorry," he said, smiling apologetically. An apology always made more sense than an excuse. "I didn't mean to interrupt." He'd been looking to take a quick swim of his own, something to refresh his body and his mind before he went back to work.

Capa was one of the few people on the island Alice didn't actually mind. In fact, she might go so far as to say she liked him, even though she didn't know him very well. He wasn't too cocky and at least he hadn't said anything about her tits.

Yet.

"It's okay, Robert," she said, lifting a hand out of the water to wave it dismissively at him. "It's a free island."

"A free island where people still don't need to be rude," Capa replied with a faint twist of a smile. He didn't live just yet, but he didn't come closer either, just in case Alice wanted him to go away. Free island or not, he wasn't about to interrupt her if she'd rather be left alone.

It might be better that way as well. He wasn't sure how well he'd do being that near a beautiful woman with so few clothes on. It had been a long time since he'd had the opportunity to find out.

"Doesn't seem to stop most of them," Alice mused. "Don't worry. I'll let you know if you're being rude." She tilted her head back to rest against the rock behind her, peering at Capa upside-down.

"You come here for some peace and quiet too?" Okay, so she wasn't exactly getting any while she was talking to him, but he was someone she didn't find taxing to be around.
