Character(s): Ami, Nik
Rating: PG13
Prompt: "A summer treat"
Ammiel sat in the front row. Nik sat in the middle.
Ammiel's hair was to his shoulders and shimmered like onyx in the sunlight passing through the classroom windows.
Nik's cinnamon hair was cut about to his ears and styled like it had been caught in the wind.
Ammiel pulled his bangs back and clipped them at the top of his head with a clip similar to a barber's.
Nik blowed at loose strands of hair when they would fall in his face.
Nik would keep maticulous notes of everything the teacher said.
Ammiel would commit everything to memory without lifting a pen once.
Both were two of the best students in the class.
Ammiel never kept his uniform tidy. His tie was always loose, his shirt untucked and his jacket had a permenant place in his locker. He almost always rolled his sleeves halfway up his lean arms.
Nik never came to school with even a hair on his uniform. His tie was tied in a perfect double winsor, his shoes polished until he could see himself and the whiteness of his shirt could induce blindness.
The girls in the class never knew which boy to be more enamoured with. Each boy recieved countless confessions every semester. Ammiel played on their love for the badboy. Nik was the picture perfect ideal student. Nobody knew Ammiel wore his clothes that way because he had very sensitive skin and he could barely breath in full uniform. And nobody knew Nik spent more time watching cartoons than looking over those notes he took. Everyone thought the teacher put Ammiel in front because he was a trouble maker but the truth was, he always looked a little sleepy to her - she wanted to make sure he stayed awake.
But today, none of that mattered. Today was the last day of school. Not only the last day, the last hour. To be more precise, the last five minutes. Though everyone was paying attention to the teacher's every word in body, their minds were already six miles away, at the nearest beach. Everyone but Nik and Ammiel. Ammiel really wanted to be ready for his SATs, which were only a month away. Nik didn't want to slip behind everyone else, which would happen if he didn't pay attention in class at least.
Three o' clock and the bell rang.
Everyone rushed out of class, everyone except Nik and Ammiel. The girls waved goodbye at them, some passing them phone numbers, as they walked by each boys' desk. Nik and Ammiel politely promised to call, each in their own way.
Within another five minutes, it was only the two boys. Nik gathered up his books and things and slid them into his bag. He stood upright and his eyes met with Ammiel's. Nik smiled. Ammiel smiled back.
Nik walked to Ammiel's side.
"So, what do we do now?" Nik asked.
"As in directly this moment?" Ammiel responded with another question.
Nik laughed and nodded.
"I wanted to go over today's lecture a little bit. I am a bit nervous about the SATs."
Nik's smile was encouraging. "You are so smart, Ami. You will have no problem."
Nik's face was young and sweet. His blue eyes shone so bright they must have stolen a thousand stars.
Ammiel was often called Ami. His grey eyes were soft but serious.
They went to their lockers, cleared out their belongings and met at the front door of the school.
The air outside seemed more refreshing than it had this morning. The sun seemed a little brighter. Even the sky seemed a truer shade of blue. Ammiel lived in a big house outside of town. Often, the two of them walked there together. Today was no exception.
Ammiel loved to garden more than anything. His house was surrounded by flowers he had grown.
Nik loved to walk through Ammiel's garden more than anything. He loved picking the fresh fruits and vegetables to eat right off the vine.
Ammiel's parents were good people. The sort of people loved by everyone in the neighborhood. Ammiel's mother was a bubbly sort of person but she loved to keep a clean house and a happy family. She stayed at home unless she was attending a meeting of one of the neighborhood groups she belonged to. Ammiel's father was a strong man who loved to work hard for his family. He worked as a builder and was often gone on-site until late at night.
So it happened that no one was home.
Nik and Ammiel grabbed apples from the kitchen and went upstairs to Ammiel's room.
Nik tossed his bag to the side and collapsed on Ammiel's bed, apple still in hand.
Ammiel set his apple on his desk. He walked to the side of his bed, looking down at Nik. Nik's face was too sweet to be bound in that suit. Ammiel thought he always looked a little out of place.
"Ami, you'll help me with the lecture, right?"
Ammiel smiled. "Maybe..." He teased Nik.
Nik looked worried. He was so innocent.
Ammiel sat down on the bed. Nik made more room for him.
"'Course I'll help you, Nik." Ammiel grabbed Nik's apple and took a bite.
They played like this sometimes. Ammiel teased Nik. Nik fell right into Ammiel's traps. Ammiel thought Nik looked cute with a bit of a pout. Nik didn't mind being teased by Ami.
Somehow, they got to talking about school. School led to college. College led to leaving. Leaving led to...what?
Nik's face could have made angel's cry.
"Will we not be friends anymore, then?" Nik said so quietly.
"We'll always be friends." Ammiel assured him.
"I won't see you, though..."
Ammiel went behind Nik, gently helping him out of his jacket. Nik let him. It was easier to talk with both of them comfortable.
Nik loosened his tie a little. Ammiel returned to face him.
Then their eyes met.
Ammiel wrapped his hands around Nik's, guiding him to pull the tie the rest of the way off.
"I'll always find a way to see you, Nik."
Their eyes never broke.
Nik shivered. Ammiel did too, but he didn't show it like Nik.
Ammiel's heart pounded. Nik's rounded cheeks flushed such a soft pink.
Suddenly, Ammiel thought there was nothing cuter than Nik.
It was divine intervention that blew open that window. A gush of wind flooded the room. Nik was knocked off balance. Nik fell forward. Nik's lips were caught by Ammiel's. Nik's body was caught in Ami's arms.
One taste was all they needed. Kisses are one of those things in life where one is never enough. Real kisses are as sweet as candy and as addicting as narcotics.
Nik was a virgin. Ammiel had been with one or two girl's in the past. But when their clothes fell around their feet, they were both equally as nervous. It was clumsy, it was short but in bed together, they were happy.
They found, laying in each other's arms, that this new love was perhaps the greatest treat summer had ever offered them.

xDDD Yeah...I've wanted to do AmiXNik for a while. I like thinking about what they would look like if they were normal highschool kids. Ami's a stoner so, I guess he would be a little bit of a punk. Nik would be the metro guy that has, like, a bajillion girl friends (that's friends that are girls). Not really all that unusual but maybe it was entertaining? It was entertaining to me either way xP
