Recently, the Supreme Court voted to allow municipalities to abrogate property law in the Kelo v. New London case. Instead of interpreting the Fifth Amendment, as written, "...[N]or shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation," the Court voted against the appeal of the landowners.
