Fifty-fifth Song || Video/Action for Goldenrod, BACKDATED TO A DECENT HOUR

[ when the video flickers on, the screen does its little shaky thing, like it's somehow severely imbalanced. this would be explained by the fact that it is currently danging from a string tied to a finger that is, with three other fingers (and one thumb), clutching onto a piece of what appears to be toast. have a nice screen-full of toast you guys ( Read more... )

for science, daring dork duo, because we can, she actually has a tennis tag now, up on the roof, what maturity level, hello johto, always fuji's fault, now this is fun learning, goldenrod, tennis bonding, perfectly harmless, valuable lessons in johto, oh the pokemanity, when boredom attacks, it's like an endless stream of 'em, what is enabling, platonic couple strikes again, toast post

[she looks out the window to watch the toast fall, then looks back at the Gear, then looks back at the window, then finally back at the Gear.]

Are you dropping them at an angle?

[ this is why she loves you, Naoto. ]

Just straight down. ... Er, as well as you can on a roof, anyway.

Interesting. I was always under the impression that it would depend largely on the angle of the drop as well as the height-- there's only so many rotations a piece of bread can make before landing, after all. [approaches this from a ridiculously scientific angle.]

... You mean you've actually thought about this before?

Well-- during breakfast, occasionally...

You know, I'm not sure if I should be impressed or worried that you're thinking about this stuff during breakfast.

What else is there to think about during breakfast? --When I'm not working on something, anyway.

You could just think that it tastes good.

That thought doesn't take up the amount of time required to eat a piece of toast, though. There's still more than enough time to think about other things.

Like what side it'd fall on. That's just like you.

Is it? [she seems a little baffled by the concept, but.] I thought it was normal to let your mind wander like that. ["wander", she says.]

Mm, not at all. Should we try?

The angle might cause a rotation-- depending on the height of the surface it was dropped off, it can only have a set amount of rotations before it hits the ground. It could cause different results. [Toast physics, now from Naoto.]

Ah, physics. [he considers this, humming.] Haven't you ever wondered if anything could transcend both physics and probability?

I'm certain there are things capable of doing so. [a brief pause, and then--] I would be surprised if toast was what did.

[agreeable!] There had to be a reason why Murphy picked toast over everything else for his example, after all.
