Oh, how horrible. Food that turns out not to be as good as you thought is a terrible disappointment. It's all right if you didn't think it was going to be up to much, but the betrayal is hard to take. My worst disappointments are always desserts, when the rest of the meal's been lovely, but all you take away with you is the thought that you should have chosen more wisely at the end. What was your lunch?

You have to end well, don't you. I hardly ever have a pudding any more in restaurants for that reason. I'd rather go straight to an ice cream parlour.

This was noodles, thrown about with some pungent chemicals. Everything looked and smelt so right when I walked in, but it was a big misjudgement.
