I think the point is for the chess to suffer. I really like the guy who basically says, "Yeah, I couldn't play chess very well because I got hit too much."

Exactly; the whole point is that you can win with either brains or brawn. If you're losing at chess, you just pummel your opponent until he can't tell his ass from a hole in the ground.

but you can't JUST rely on brawn! You have to have enough wits about yourself not to make the SAME stupid mistakes!
