So very very tired
I’ve been calculating in my head how many of these journal entries I’ve gotten done over the course of this week, and the numbers aren’t too encouraging - I actually have to lower myself to doing one of these on a Friday night. Just have to try and make this as quick and painless as humanly possible, I guess. Hopefully very soon, perhaps tomorrow

Colleges empty out early in september because students need to go home and get in a fight with their parents.
That's an important part of college. You go, spend a few weeks with independence, and then you go home, where your parents still treat you like a kid. Only you've been irrevocably changed, and you're not a kid anymore. And they have to know it.
So you fight.
Oh, and you need to go home and break up with your boy/girlfriend.
Same reason.
Usually, though, this comes a lot later. But it's always the first break during the year.
