It's so hard when the people you love are troubled. Addiction is such a bitch. I hate what it does to my friends and family, especially when I enjoy their company so much.

Yeah, Susan, drug addiction has destroyed the lives of so many people, and hurt the friends and family members of its victims.

I have had 2 close friends, and 3 peripheral friends who all were killed by drug use. Unfortunately, I see Ricky headed in the same direction.

I relate to that, almost word for word. It's tragic. (Feeling helpless about a very close family member - my closest immediate family member - right now. Such a quality person who has wrecked nearly everything, and I can't do a thing about it.) Sending you big, big hugs.
