Snow storm & Death of the Fridge

Jan 07, 2024 22:39

Last Friday it became apparent that my refrigerator was no longer working as it should. Ice cubes were not freezing all the way through, and some items in the freezer were starting to thaw. I can't complain too much, because the fridge was given to me for free 20 years ago by a customer who had me remodel their kitchen. So, 20 years use of a ( Read more... )

I didn't know you could buy dry ice for that!

Yes, you can, here in Syracuse anyway. Dry Ice producers are usually closely associated with ice cream factories and storage facilities. I bought my dry ice at an ice cream warehouse.

another of my friends lost her fridge too. :o
She hasn't gotten her new one yet though. :o

We have snow coming, and Maggie is going to be thrilled. LOL...

I remember that it wasn't very long ago that your fridge died too. It is such a hassle to deal with replacing a refrigerator and dealing with the spoiling food. I'm glad mine died in the winter.

Of my dogs over the years, Casey, Adam and Lily all enjoyed running around in the snow. Chloe did not, and I am skeptical that Honey will learn to enjoy it either.

Fridge didn't die, but we lost power for 3-4 days and lost everything in the fridges and freezers.

Aargh, about the fridge! But at least it's the right time of year, if your fridge really insists on packing up.

Honey looks very happy in her little den. I don't know what it is about aglets, but when I had spaniel puppies, that was always their favourite chew as well.

Yes, I think Honey feels happy and safe in her little den. I hope she will feel happy and safe in the rest of the house eventually.

I brought her to the vet today for her first checkup. She was terrified, but the staff there adored Honey. Her new vet was very gentle and caring with her. She has gained 8 pounds (3.6 kg) since I got her.

Honey is so cute! I wish we would get some snow that settles.

Is yours one of those huge American fridges? I am sure you would think mine tiny, but it suffices for one person.

Thanks, Mark! Honey is definitely a cutie.

Yes, I suppose my fridge is one of the huge American ones. When Ricky was living here with me, it was full most of the time. With me alone, the freezer part is still packed full, but the fridge part looks a bit sparse, even after shopping. But I don't plan on having another housemate.

We've had just over 5 inches all Winter to date. One of my neighbors (who seems to have a screw loose) is outside right now practicing his golf in the dusting of snow we do have. Last winter, by this time, we had 45.8 inches of snow. It's definitely a warm winter for us.

Love this photos, especially the one of you with Honey in your lap. I'm glad you got a canine companion!

Thank you, Neil, I am really glad to have Honey in my life now.

It has been a relatively warm winter here as well. All that snow we had is gone today.
