hmmm interesting, i will agree that the media has become quite overbearing and in the era of 24 hour news networks the value of ratings over legitimate news seems to be the disturbing trend. However while it seems that outlining how to get a bomb on board is a rather bad idea it is actually one of the medias duties. These terrorists are pretty smart people and i doubt that Wolf Blitzer is telling them anything they could not have found out on there own. What the media does is puts the pressure on the government and airlines to shore up the gaps in their security. Why not just tell the airlines and government in private is a legitmate question. Well as much as these institutions really do care about us, they dont care enough to act without the threat of public retribution which is what the media brings with these stories. What i think is an even more alarming product of the media is Rita Cosby and her sinus congested man voice.

The government has known about this stuff for years, according to the report. The airlines just havn't done shit about it. I for one think it should be the duty of the airlines, not the government to do this...of course I'm always for less government intrusion.

And thus you have proven the worth of the medias story. They have known for years and done nothing so it is time to put public pressure on them by running that story. I would agree that the airlines should secure themselves, but some government oversite would be required.

They've been trying. The airlines just won't comply.

and the more public pressure they put on this, the more the people will be yelling at the government for not putting regulations on it, instead of the companies that are failing to make it secure.
