[Eternity obtained this memory on Oct 24, after he used the crystal he obtained while
investigating the Wilderness with Fred.]
He couldn't see anything around him and quickly focused on his remaining senses. Unlike how he'd originally been lying on the lower bunk in his designated room within temporary housing, he was now standing and wearing something thicker, heavier. One hand held at hard and flat object down at his side while the other held something small to his ear. Likely it was a communication device -a handset- and sure enough there were several small beeps in quick succession--the sound of an attempt to ring someone up.
"Zack here." The recipient answered promptly.
"It's been a while, Zack."
"S--" The recipient's response was overpowered by an incredibly loud static.
"Come to Lazard's room." He replied as if there'd been no static in the first place.
"Alright."
After hanging up, he placed the phone away before lifting the other object and flipping papers on it--a clipboard. It'd do him well to see this information, but the memory crystal seemed to restrict his senses to hearing and touch. He presumably finished reading the information and flipped it back to the top to skim over things when he heard someone -possibly Zack- enter the room.
"Congratulations. As of this moment, you're promoted to SOLDIER 1st Class." It was a different voice coming from a different direction; presumably this was Lazard since Zack had been called to his office.
"Huh. I thought I'd be happier." Zack sounded unsatisfied. Eternity continued to listen.
"Understandable. Too much happened too fast. Zack, I'm afraid I need your assistance again."
"Are you pushing another assignment on me?" The question was directed toward him.
Eternity replied, "My apologies."
"Whatever."
"I'll fill you in on the assignment, but before that... Go to the briefing room and change into a SOLDIER 1st Class uniform."
Eternity waited. Before long, he heard Zack return.
"The company has decided to eliminate Genesis and his cohorts. This includes Angeal as well." Lazard continued.
"And you want me to do it?"
"No, the ShinRa army will handle it."
"What about me?"
"They don't trust you."
Eternity explained, "They believe your emotions will hamper your judgment."
"Well, of course!" Zack seemed to know this well enough.
"That's why I'm going, too," Eternity added with finality.
"To kill them?" He sounded both surprised and upset.
There was a brief and tense silence quickly followed by the sound of security alarms.
"An intruder!" Eternity said, already preparing to move.
"Where?" Lazard asked.
"Close."
"S--" Again, that overpoweringly loud static. "--the president. Zack, entrance."
"Yeah, you got it." Zack confirmed. They split ways to their respective assignments...
