I'm staying in Dublin, but I'm down to daytrip over to Galway. Tell me more about what i should do?

I'm not a big fan of dublin...I like the west coast of ireland a lot more. I think galway is too far to day-trip to, unless you drove? We took a train and it was only a few hours but it would be a lot for one day (there and back again.) Hmmm I know they have a lot of day trips and bus trips that go from dublin out and around the country side...definitely check out some of those. I mean Dublin is a cool city but the really cool part of ireland is the countryside.
