Screw the timeline, your characterization is incredible. And your style - I think I've told you already that I'm in love with it, and I'm incredibly jealous of how consistent it is (I mean, I'm writing maybe five different things and they're all in different styles and I think I'm stealing from you, a little, with one of them).

And you have everyone's voices down so well. Your Akihiko is just - I could see this being canon, all of it, if the powers that be weren't so fumbling and awkward with the subject.

...and the sex - I know you said you chickened out, but you did it well, at least. It ends naturally and doesn't seem abruptly cut off and awkward, and what there is... is really hot.

haha, my style isn't really that consistent. it's only recently that i even actually had what could be called a style at all - i used to be totally all over the place, and it really shows in my old fics (and believe me, they're awful. so much so that no-one on lj is ever getting to read them. well, unless they find me by accident on the pit or something :p ( ... )

I didn't go into Persona expecting anything other than some good games - and I still ended up disappointed. I mean, they are good games, but...

It's not just you - Kanji was a slap in the face. So, what... he has some kind of girl-dar? It's okay not to be a manly-man as long as you like girls? (Though I'm sure the alternative would've been "he's not gay, he just likes this one guy and that doesn't make him gay okay"...)

I pretty much refused to go the romance path with Naoto because fuck no, I'm not going to tell her that I'm glad she's a girl, that I wish she'd use a girly voice - I hate maxing her S.link at all because of how much of a dick Souji is about it. /: "Who cares that you're a detective and probably better equipped to take care of yourself than I am, you're a girl and girls need walked home by big strong men!"

...and then there's P3 and the complete ignorance of anything to do with mental illness. I just... The one thing they did right with Chidori was try to strip her room of sharps and they didn't even get that right ( ... )

persona is pretty faily wrt a few things, and it's just really frustrating me that for the most part fandom doesn't seem to want to talk about it at all. i swear to god, if i see one more person say that no, naoto seriously wanted to be condescended and patronized by a dude and was just too afraid to say this for some bizarre reason (usually something about how ~society wouldn't approve~. do these people know anything about japanese attitudes to gender...?) and was actually being a good guy all along, i'm going to scream.

(god, i really wish i was making that up. but this is actually a really prevalent attitude in P4 fandom from what i've seen, and it's honestly a little depressing.)

i mean, naoto has a fucking gun and yet half the options in her s.link seemed to be variations on "what do you mean you can take care of yourself, you're a girl. now excuse me while i blatantly ignore you and walk you home despite the fact that you've told me several times you'd rather walk by yourself ( ... )

ikr! sometimes ff.net has good fics but you have to really search for them bc there's just SO MUCH CRAP TO LOOK THROUGH >:|

IT SO DOES. i think i'm going to try writing some more persona soon bc it's my favourite fandom and it seriously needs more fic \o/

THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING AND JUST ABOUT MADE MY LIFE I mean. I'm so happy right now, you can't even imagine, dude. This is going into my headcanon right this instant.

Everything about this is just great, raw and powerful and so real. I think it helps that I can relate immensely to Akihiko too (gay trans guy here as well). Reminds me a little of my struggles as well, which isn't a bad thing in this case.

re: Yosuke and Kanji, oh man I KNOW. I spend entire cutscenes raging at the characters and Atlus and etc. because of Yosuke's ignorant and blatantly homophobic and sexist spiels. The tent scene during the school campout? Wanted to punch him in the face the entire time. One would expect at least Chie or Souji to speak out against the shit he says (esp. Souji, who seems like a nice guy despite the snarkiness of some of his responses), but no. Argh, so much frustration. D:Also, as little as I know about Naoto at this point - I'm starting the Rise story arc - she's always screamed FtM to me, especially since her Shadow is ( ... )

yeah, i really can't stand fandom's obsession with how much of a ~bro~ yosuke is. he's just fucking awful, there really isn't another way to put it. and i seriously hate it when people try and excuse his homophobia with either "he's a 16 year old boy, they're all like that!" or "he's just confused and in the closet THAT MAKES IT OKAY". because these seem to both be fairly common interpretations in fandom, and...no. just fucking no. i can't even begin to explain the level of NOPE those statements make me feel.

i want to write trans!naoto fic sometime soon, but...it doesn't really feel like it'd be worth the level of wank that topic seems to inspire in fandom. i know for a fact that there's been wank about it on the kink meme at least twice, and that there's been a few fandomsecrets about considering naoto ftm that were totally shouted down by all the commenters :/

I REQUEST THE HIGHEST OF FIVES!

I've been told by all of my friends who played the game before me that Yosuke is so fucking awesome and everything, so I feel kind of like a stick in the mud for feeling UH NO about him. Glad I'm not alone in thinking this. But the fandom, aaargh. I haven't even begun to look into the P4 one yet, but now I don't want to. At all. Unless I can find some good Kanji/Souji or trans!Naoto/Kanji, because honey? YES.

You should do it if you feel compelled to do so, and fuck everyone else, especially since your writing is awesome. (There's a kink meme for Persona? Where.) Ugh, fandomsecrets. There's a reason I don't keep up with it, and that's mostly it.
