This is horrible...

I don't care if you're a vegetarian or you eat meat like I do. Watching this video will turn your stomach. Is eating a fish that can kill you so important that you have to watch it flop around still trying to gasp for breath after it's face has been chopped off and it's body is being chopped to pieces?

How do they kill the rest of the sushi fish? I know that it comes to the restaurant dead, but somewhere along the line it had to die... I'm going to guess they all die the same way... It does not look pretty but neither does the way they kill cattle, or chicken, or pigs... I know people only eat a small portion of it but its hard to value one life over so many others that we kill mercilessly, if anything lets stop eating cows... The cow industry is ruining more of our planets land then anything else...

P.S. I know it sounds like a vegetarian rant, but I am not a vegetarian...

I'm not a vegetarian either and I have caught and cleaned/killed my fair share if fish while visiting my grandparents farm. If you do it right the brain is severed from the body right away and all you see left is reflexes. Watching this video it's clear they left cutting the brain out until the very last part of the kill. It may not have much of a brain but it can still feel pain.

I can say though, having known cattle farmers, that they are killed in about the most humane way possible of domestically raised animals for food. One airgun blast to the brain and they never knew what hit them.

I know I'm going to get blasted by a veggie or vegan for saying that, but it's true. There are far more barbaric ways for killing animals than cattle.

Also I am the first to admit that if I had to kill my own food I probably would be a pescatarian.

We all have our levels of acceptance and no one way is the right or wrong one. This video just reached my max.

First off, my comment was not an attack, just a thought... I'm going to guess that by posting this you were trying to spark something in people to get them thinking about this issue ( ... )

I'm not even going to watch. I have chosen a profession dedicated to saving animals when they are dying. When I see an animal in pain, I fix it or end its suffering. It's part of working in emergency animal medicine.
I am a vegetarian. I see nothing wrong with eating meat. I don't agree with the way the meat industry is run- but part of that is because I'd like to see the independent, small business, family farm flourish. At least we have cruelty laws in place- even if they are violated, at least they are there.
