Oh my god, WHAT are you TALKING about?!?!?! That is the worst song EVER in the entire history of bad songs. Have you not noticed the glaring idiotic faults in every single lyric? It is obviously confusing punk rockers for hippies, and even if it wasn't COMPLETELY historically inaccurate in every conceivable way (eg, "in '77 and '69 revolution was in the air"... i.e.- BEFORE PUNK, and "[when] ...anarchy was still a dream"... When the whole damn POINT of punk rock IS the anarchic dream), why the fucking fuck can the singer not just BE who she wishes she was? Perhaps because she apparently has no idea whatsoever of the era she chooses to idolise.
It is a wrong and bad and awful song, and I feel sick to my stomach every time I remember that it exists.
Rachel, I guess that's just the price you pay for expressing love for a pop song on the internet, the medium of cynical-nerd-dom. Ouchies. For the record, I'm torn on the song. It's really catchy, but the clip is really boring and they could have done so much more with it.
"I'm a punk but I'm also a hippy and a mad and a bit of an 80's hair metal fan even though I wouldnt admit it while similtaneously being a bit of an indie kid"

"Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair" - does that mean she wants to be a contradiction?
what doesn't the world care about?
and in the punk days record shops stocked cassettes as well as vinyl. and both punk and hippy, were media creations. the media did "buy their soul"!
accountants had as much control then as now.
anarchy was not really a hippy dream. most hippies wanted to live on communal farms.
what annoys me most about that song is the singer is a pop star and is probably really into all the stuff she is singing against.
its a pretty bad song, but not as bad as that "shakira shakira" song.
