Yesterday I was very rude to a total stranger, and it's strange that while I didn't really care at the time (I was in a really bad mood!), I feel sooooo guilty now _-_ I'd assumed my experience in this district of Rukongai was normal, but... it seems like it wasn't. Oh yeah? Can you explain aging to me? I talked to some kid last week who says he's been dead for over twenty years, but he still looks just the same. At first I thought maybe it was the spirit power thing (if you've got it, you grow/get hungry, if you haven't, you don't), but then some other guy has grown, and it's been like a hundred years and he only looks about fourteen (apparently he died at five or something?). And. I don't get it.

We're like the army here, I guess. I dunno, I heard people call us angels an' soldiers an' I don't reckon we're either, but we're meant to protect you. You won't see many of us around Rukongai, though.

Agein' works different for everyone, ain't no one really figured it out yet, but I know one pink haired kid who looks eigh an' I swear is older than me. Basically each soul here's got a time limit - I figure it's somethin' to do with how long that is. Eventually you're gonna get reborn an' keep the balance of souls between here an' the material world intact. The less time before you get reborn, the faster you age. That's my guess. But either way, it ain't quick for anyone.
