Who still reads this thing? I've been going over my old entries because I'm bored and I'm trying to try not to try to write. I have to go to bed at about 9 tonight, since my Christing job gave scheduled me lab time at 6A on a freaking saturday -_-;;

But no, I'm curious who still reads this.

I do! I don't write much, but as confused as I'm getting about facebook, that could well change. Plus, I noticed that last year this was a good place for me to come to write when I had stuff I couldn't put out into facebook or my blog. So now that I'm away from Minneapolis again, I might end up doing that more. Not that I'm looking for drama. But if it comes, I know where I can go to hash it all out.

Hey, what's your job? And what are you up to in general these days? I haven't seen you in ages. But any time anyone here in Detroit brings up the MOA (in relation to my being from the Cities), I think of the time we went people-watching there with Bach and Laura Eng. :)

People watching was fun :)

I haven't had much to write about in ages, since I haven't really been big on keeping people up-to-date with my life, but I'm starting to realize that it might be worthwhile to do so. If things ever actually happen, that is.

I'm an engineer living in Cedar Rapids, IA, which is probably the dullest town I could have imagined -_-; What are you doing in Detroit?

Ha - I know someone from Cedar Rapids. She lives in the Cities now, though.

I'm in the Lutheran Volunteer Corps, which is a yearlong program of volunteer service and living in community. So I'm living with two other volunteers and we all work at different organizations in the city. I'm at a church that has a farm and a preschool (I do some work with both of those programs) and we're pulling together an HIV prevention program to address the astronomical levels of HIV infection in Detroit. (Awful fact: with HIV, a 1% infection rate is considered an epidemic level; in Detroit over half the zip codes have an infection level of more than 5%. That's higher than most of the countries in Africa.)

I like Detroit a lot, but I really miss the Twin Cities. And I'm ready to not be living places/working jobs for one year at a time.

Detroit is in rough shape =/ I'm glad to hear you're doing what you can to help. I always admired people who took the initiative and went out to do things like volunteer corps - I was kind of afraid of my student loans (who isn't), and took the first job I could get hold of. If I'd been unemployed during the Tohoku earthquake I'd have probably headed to Japan to help with the relief effort. (My aunt asked me if I'd be willing to go, but work was like LOL NO)

I miss the Cities too. Quite a lot actually - and I've been thinking about high school more than what is probably healthy lately. My life then feels like the polar opposite of my life now.

As I frequently demand of people who do interesting things on a daily basis, tell me a story! :)

I'm reading, I even read all of you and Korla's comments. Lol.

I don't write much because I don't like being all angsty in public, and I tend to write angsty things on here (some sort of left-over from high school lj?) but I love hearing other people and writing back to them.

It's been a surprisingly long time since I've angsted all over anyone. I can't say for certain why that is, but I know it's surprising as hell if you look at how I was in HS.

The real question is, when is the last time we all changed our profile pitures? ... possibly never, I think.
