E,
You are so amzaingly intelligent and capable and your concern for the world and the people in it is one of the things I most value about you. If I can "save the world" in my little pink bus, you can save the world without a physics degree. But, like your job, a degree in physics is a means to an end. I'll support your decision and love you either way.

Erica, honestly, if you wouldn't be worthy of being voted "most likely to make a difference," who would be? But if you don't feel like you've been doing enough then no one can disagree with you. If you need more, by all means go do more. The world certainly needs it.
