Character Personality: Like all gold dragons, Aurican is scholarly, wise, and well-mannered. He despises all things evil, and he does not hesitate in extinguish evil when it appears to him. Unlike his metallic cousins (though he often calls them his brothers, as they grew up together and became very close), Aurican does not actively go out and search for evil. He’s more inclined to seek more peaceful activities like socializing with other lesser beings like elves in an assumed form, or composing ballads. Out of all of his fellow dragons, he is the most creative, with his love for the theater and music, as well as architecture and the fine arts, as well with an obsession with magic.  He has great patience and it is truly rare to find him acting out on his emotions for having such great emotional discipline. It’s often seen that to witness him overwrought with grief is just as disturbing as to see him emotionally distant.

However, because of his godly origins, Aurican has a certain arrogance that is clearly dragon-like. He believes that all beings, save other dragons, are lesser in status with him, with their lack of lengthy lifespans and magical and physical might. But he has a very important lesson instilled with him early on his life: always show mercy, even to his enemies. He doesn’t kill or taunt in sport, and would rather offer a hand of friendship instead.

Aurican often lacks the drive of many lesser beings because of his long lifetime. In fact, it can be said that humans made more accomplishments than he does because it simply takes more time on his part to do so. And the few accomplishments he made were influential, such as returning magic to Kyrnn and his assistance in winning the First Dragon War.  Because he can live for so long, his capacity for love is very different to those of a short-lived person. He does not believe that he himself is capable of loving because of his draconic nature, but that is simply not the case. When the elves were first attacked and evastated by the chromatic dragons and their orge forces, Aurican was nearly paralyzed in grief. On the other hand, he did not fall into despair when his metallic cousins were slain by the chromatics. It is very much likely that he is very much capable of loving, but only in a different way that can only be suitable with his own psychology and lifespan. Again, it very much depends. But Aurican can love, but merely in the way that is not what is normally considered to be as such.

His lifespan very much determines how he acts out, and how he talks. To a lesser being, he acts and talks very wisely. While it is true that Aurican is wise, to be sure, but in actually he merely has patience and good manners on his side. However, he doesn't quite understand the emotions of lesser beings. Logic, certainty, but him seeing an angry human is like us seeing an angry cat: we can see the anger, but not what is causing it. Aurican is aware of this flaw, but he never makes any effort into really understanding or even change it, due to his arrogance as a dragon.

He also doesn't seem to really get sarcasm.

Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A
Character Plans: First thing Aurican is going to do is to learn everything he can about the Port and his fellow newcomers. Since he spends less time as a dragon anyway, he will have no problem living out as a human. He might find a job pertaining his interests, such as music or theater. On occasion he might go out at night in his normal form, killing Darkness monsters and saving people in need of help. He is very much open to game-wide plots that involve any deliberate warfare/hurting innocents due to his self-righteous nature.

Appearance/PB: The dragonlance novels are so vague in their descriptions of dragons in general it’s really impossible to describe Aurican other than “big golden-scaled dragon”. Since the Dragonlance novels are basically expy of the Dungeons and Dragons game, Aurican is going to be described as a Dungeons and Dragons gold dragon in terms of appearance, but not in abilities. (Even one Dragonlance book has this particular design on its cover!)
Aurican will have a human form which I will be posting as goldballadeer

Here is his pb set.

[ At first, all you can see is gold. Shiny slabs of gold, intircally patterned in a matter of scales. Then the camera moves up, up, up, and then you might think that it is rather a sculpture made entirely out of gold. A golden fish, perhaps? A snake? A lizard?

Then the camera zooms out and there’s a long, golden neck, so long and round it can make even the mightiest of pythons seem miniscule. You might see something behind the neck - strange wings with a mixture of a bat and a manta ray. The camera moves up once more and you’ll see a face. A short, scaly muzzle with whiskers and horns appear, with gleaming eyes (golden as well) fills the screen, bringing an almost readable expression of curiosity and a little hint of confusion.

The dragon turns its head to the side and down and speaks to the Greeter nervously glancing at the massive forepaws with the wicked, sharp talons. This golden creature’s voice is deep and calm, only hinting the great wisdom he has gained over the many courses of millennia. ]

I thank you for helping me understand this particular brand of magic.

[ The dragon turns back to the screen. You might be able to see a kind smile merging from that draconic visage - or maybe not.

Abruptly, the feed ends. ]

The closest thing to be part of an entirely new world has to be visiting the gods of magic.

But the realms of the gods is vastly different from seeing this world, this tiny city. Buildings just as enourmous as the buildings in Silvanos, but most lacking the elegent beauty of delicate silver and glass, metal and stone. Indeed, most of them seem to resemble the human cities that his brass brother Smelt enjoyed. But those buildings were built on the foundations of heritage and beauty as well as being pragmatic, as these buildings lack the majestic quality. If Aurican have to be honest, they looked too crude, too much of blemish for Aurican to really stand looking at.

But, Aurican is certain that he is not here to bring architectural criticism. That is certain.

In this bright day, his scales gleam into a brightness. People below him look up at amazement, pointing, even running away. This brings another issue - he should try a less threatening form, or he might be attacked by someone propelled in fear. Muttering a spell, he renders himself invisible and flew toward a small corner, where he changes into a golden-haired dog. Dismissing the invisible enchantment, he walks around the city aimlessly.

A strange thing, a metal box on wheels (with the most appalling scent!) approach him. A rider opens a door out of the box, entering the outside. The man seem old, by human standards, and he walks with a patient, measured step toward Aurican.

He is also carrying some kind of pole, with some kind of rope. "C'mere, boy," the man whistles. "I can take you to a new home, boy. A good family ... "

Well, that just won't do. As much as Aurican appreciates the man's good gesture to find a lost dog to be given to a gentle family, he really cannot afford to be caged up.

Letting out a woof, Aurican runs off. He can hear the metal-box rumbling to life and taking after him.
