Cimorene's out for weeding, hair pinned up and with leather gloves to protect her hands. She raises her eyebrows as she catches sight of Ivan in the orchard. "What, don't tell me Percy's adopted someone else?"

"Well, he doesn't have a deed or anything, but he built most everything on it, so I think that gives him a right if anyone has it." She looks amused.

But if all things are held in common, then all labor must be held in common, too (Russian culture was always ripe for communism), and he offers, "Might I help you?"
