The City, in and of itself, wasn't very much to look at: Britain was larger and far more populous, Japan was...Japan, the place where demons prayed on whatever moved, and Portugal still remained his home away from home, that one place he could feel human even though part of him was not.

This wasn't to say that the City was boring. Nor did it mean that the City was unpleasant to live in by any stretch of the imagination; Tyki loved exploring it for the people he would meet, for their unique personalities and creeds, their ways of speech and manerisims. The City, unlike any other he had ever been before, almost thrived on the differences of its people. It was nice; as a orphan, Tyki had been walking the streets of cities for quite some time now, spending at least one night of each week simply getting himself lost in the twist and turns of the places he found himself in, in their alleys and roads and architectures.

Tonight, he decided he'd take a walk through the park. Something simple and serene, just as the look on his face was.

He heard the newcomer before he saw him, and it was only for a moment that their paths crossed. Knives stared at him for a long moment, and their eyes met, the fingers of his left hand twitching, pulsing with power just waiting to be unleashed. It would be quick, leaving a splatter of bloodied remains that no one would recognize. So easy. So satisfying.

And yet he didn't. This was a park, and he wouldn't desecrate the life here with the blood of human refuse.

And so he passed him by, not bothering to say a word. After all, what could he possibly have to say to a ridiculous human?

He arched an eyebrow at the stranger, not quite understanding why he was glaring so hard or why he was holding himself so rigidly. Chalking it up to fate -- or maybe a bad pita, for all he knew -- the Noah merely shrugged to himself and continued onward, stopping only momentarily to pull out a cigarette from his pocket and li--.

His lighter. It was -- shit. Tykie felt around in his pocket for the thing, grasping and twisting through the folds of his rather large pants for a few moments, the cigarette barely dangling off the egde of his lips

"Aw, don't tell me I..." he said to himself, turning around to look for the lighter that, he hoped, had just fallen out of his pocket near-by.

That voice.

Knives paused, recognizing it as he hadn't recognized the face. It was him -- or one aspect of him, at least. His mouth drew into a thin line, and he turned, watching him play the fool when he was no such thing.

And there, in the darkness, his keen eyes picked it out -- what the dim side must have lost. Purposefully, he walked over to pick it up, hold the lighter where the other could see it as he addressed him coolly.

"Looking for this?"
