Self indulgence

Being in pain alters your personality. I really hate what it is making me become. More then anything, I hate that my friends have to suffer me. Even the most patient of them must be tired of it by now. They are as supportive and wonderful as ever (two of them took me to hospital last night and kept me entertained while we waited for my MRI scan and ( Read more... )

Oh man I love chips so much, they make me a fattie but I don't care because their delicious crunchy goodness eases all pain.

But seriously, you don't sleep naked ever? What about when it's a thousand degrees(possibly an exaggeration) at night?

Out of curiosity, where is your pain coming from?

Pain is something I can relate to - kidney infections at 13, kidney stones at 16, bowel obstructions and life saving major exploratory surgery at 19, and ME/CFS for almost a decade now makes me a little more close to the subject than I'd like.

It can be hard to remember who we are beneath it - beneath my pain I'm a pervert and a lover, an artist and a perfectionist. I'm a weirdo and a freak and it's obvious from the moment people meet me - but it's not always obvious to me.

The pain doesn't dominate our lives, it's just a really important and large part of it. We still exist outside it even if we don't realize it. Cripple power! :)

I am relatively new to the world of being a cripple so am still trying to figure out how I cope with it. The pain comes from a two and a half year old car accident. There was whiplash but it all seemed to have healed quite well until about the start of November last year when it re-emerged in the form of constant pain across my shoulder but mostly down my right arm (which has since become incredibly weak since alot of the muscles are wasting away). So far nothing has solved it but my GP is amazingly encouraging and his last visit was the most encouraging thing that anyone has yet said: 'We haven't exhausted all possibilities. There is still plenty of other things we can try ( ... )

You are a lovely, and appreciated young woman. With talent in multiple fields. Please stay with us, as you improve our world. Even for those of us who see you rarely, as well as (I'm sure)those who get the privilege of more of your time.
As one of the few others around with pain problems, I'm happy to do what I can.

See you Friday.
