Got a question.
Why aren't there more people trying to bust outta this place? Seriously, is there something in the water supply? We're TRAPPED in a City that we can't LEAVE except by the whim of some psuedo-psychopathic divine whateverthehells and why are so many people okay with this?
Christ, why am I okay with this?!

I'd say there's a number of reasons. But the way I look at it, it's more adaptation than anything else. You want to survive, you learn to work with what you got.
Probably most people don't see this place as too much of a threat. People come and go at random, so alot of them are probably hoping if they're good and all that they'll get sent home eventually.

I did plenty of adapting back where I was from. I didn't need a refresher course.
But there's the thing - it's random. Being 'good' has nothing to do with it, from what I've seen so far. Some of the best people I've met here have been here for two years already.

I never said you did. Do you take everything as a personal attack or something?
Yeah that I don't really have a theory to. It's not exactly a logical system, is it?

Not everything.
Nothing's logical about 'deities' drunk on their own power.

But, well, if I leave now, I'll never find out what the fucking hell's going on in this bastard place, will I?

John Constantine, if you want a name so much.

So tell me, Constantine, why the hell would you even care to figure out this place?

As for me, I have nothing to go back for.

... yeah, I know. I'm not exactly itching to head home myself, but I'm also not keen on some Divine Power controlling my life.

I don't like it myself. But the alternatives do not look too good to me as well.

Makes sense. Either way, it's one hell of an experience.

So people who think they're gods are the ones keeping everyone stuck here?

There seems to be a distinction. The 'in-city' gods are different than the gods that are like you and me and just sorta got dropped here.
