My mother pastored a small country church when I was a teenager 20+ years ago.  Female pastors were rare in SouthEast Ohio then, but most of the church was related to her then-husband.  Now the church needs a pastor again.  I was thinking about applying, but this morning I was remembering my teenage years there & now I'm not sure if I'ld be a good

Seriously though, good luck with this - you often sound like you need something like this, and getting to change at least one congregation's views, even a little? Worth it.

I'm currently not openly gay and not practicing gay stuff but in the end I know I'll turn out gay. I was recently called by God to get involved with this church which was of course anti-gay and totally fundamentalist with everything else. It's not even my regular church.

I guess in the end, God needs people to reach out to the far right and bring them more towards the middle. I don't like being the one to do it though. Some of the right wing fundamentalists are nice people but they just don't seem to get it sometimes!

Sooner or later reality just has to sink into these people! Times change and the needs of people become different. Some of these fundamentalists think the world is just going to conform to their rigidity when the rest of the world is slowly walking away from organized religion in favor of doing other things!
