because sometimes they come off, never to be put on again.

What makes something like rejection sooo shitty is that the rejector and the rejectee can't possibly see the rejection in the same light. It looses meaning in the translation between two brains, or alters somehow in the space between lips and ear.

Maybe one of these days we'll figure out why we sometimes sabotage the best things in our lives. Until then, we have these stories of love and loss, over and again.

Damn, man, I really want to raise a few pints with you sometime soon, but I know that ain't gonna happen. I'll be in the ATL over Labor Day, but by then you'll be back in the Big Sandy from your European Tour '05. Look me up next time you're within a few hundred miles of the Puget Sound area, and I'll do the same next time I'm in the CSA. (Yee haw)

Enjoy Greece. Try the lamb. Ha.

Hi,

First and most important, thank you for the courageous and difficult job that you are doing. I have the greatest admiration and respect for all of our military personnel. Thank you also for sharing such a personal and powerful account of your time in Iraq.

My name is Tiffany. I found you as a result of a link in qp4's journal. I just wanted to take a minute tonight to come by and introduce myself and tell you about a community that you might be interested in. I am the owner of a small non-profit organization called patriotpenpals. We are committed to providing friendship, support and encouragment to military personnel stationed overseas. Our volunteers send letters, cards and care packages as a way of showing their thanks ( ... )

Sincere thanks for the offer and support. I don't think I'll be joining any communities anytime soon. I think its a good idea to try and connect with soldiers on deployment but I'm having a hard time keeping up with the folks I know back home, much less those I don't. Again thanks.
