While hauling my luggage through Charles De Gaulle airport, I made an embarrassing observation. I don't know how you think this is going nowhere.... I think you ought to post the rest. I'm reading On The Road right now, and while this certainly isn't quite as well written for the most part, it's still fun to read and is kind of reminiscent of the style. How so you ask? With you I can never quite tell if something you're writing is auto-biographical or completely fictional or a strange culmination of the two. In fact, up to this point I believed word for word that this was a vacation that you had actually taken and were translating back onto paper with a few minor exaggerations.

Post the rest. Or I might die.

Ironically, this serial isn't fiction. It's a pretty frank account of what happened while I was in France. I meant to prove this by using an authentic picture of myself passed out in a wine chataeu as my livejournal avatar. The conversations happened, even as absurd as they are written out. Even the brief reference to scientology was a fact. Just like any writer, including journalists, I can take the facts and spin them to better make my point. In this case, grasping for some sort of unifying theme I could use to make it seem as if there were a progression throughout the "episodes," I tried to use the happenings of my trip to illustrate the divide between Americana and French culture. At this point in the piece, I just feel like my point has been shown and the herculean task of tying up all of the loose ends I purposefully introduced in the earlier parts (even the nonsensical title) is more trouble than it will probably be worth. It's as if I've got all the set up, but none of the potential payoff ( ... )
