With 814: I'll admit, I do consider a person's life when I take advice. I had a friend (the one that introduced me to LJ, actually) whose parents were paying her way through college and had never needed to support herself. Well, during a rough patch, Rob and I wound up getting threatened with eviction and had just under a month to find a place. She insisted we shouldn't even bother looking for a place because we'd never find a decent one in that amount of time and should therefore move in with Rob's mother (something that would have been disastrous on so many levels). She'd also be very free with relationship advice, despite the fact that she'd cheated on her boyfriend & blurted this fact out to him in a fight and he'd responded by hitting her. (My relationship problems were much more mundane and housewifey by comparison. ;)) I guess it wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't tended to get offended if others didn't follow/want to hear her advice.
Though you're more low-key in your advice than that, so this isn't all that relevant, I guess. :

I definitely understand that. I listen to advice from some people with a very discerning ear and/or don't disclose certain problems to them, sometimes because they just don't have the experience/insight to give good feedback, they view their opinions as "my way or the wrong way," we just have different values, they're not very empathetic, etc.
Regarding my life, I viewed the graphic more so as, "My life is insane, but I am a good person to ask for advice if you need some feedback/thoughts/insight on your life." ;-) I appreciate feedback and learning from others in general, which I think helps my approach when giving advice, more open-minded/empathetic and less know-it-all.
