Name: Maria
Origin: Silent Hill
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Species: Human sort of
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality: Maria has been described as cheerful and energetic, which is true up to a point.
She is, however, quite moody, and tends to worry often, usually about the people around her and her own worth. She is somewhat able to fence in her emotions, and the times she does result in a front of playful, sexy confidence. This ‘risque’ side is essentially hard-wired into her, acting as part of her nature. Occasionally, she has displayed the capability to turn emotions on and off like a lightswitch- when she is able to do this, she will often use it to her own benefit in times of need. She is very aware of herself and her station, giving her feelings of doubt about her own existence - consequently, she prefers being in the company of others, despite not being particularly social. She thrives on company, and can easily become swayed or hurt psychologically when alone. Her trust, and even her love, are strong once they are gained by a person, and she does not mind helping others in need- as long as she is able. She is reasonably clever, however sensitive, which has been known to put her on the defensive in confrontations. Beneath the seductive façade she is a thoughtful yet fearful person, looking for her raison d’etre.
Abilities: She was born without any remarkable or supernatural powers. Her skills of note would be her ability to seduce and manipulate.
Weaknesses: She can, at times, succumb to her fears and insecurities with ease. Her biggest fears are death, pain, and loneliness, as she doesn’t want to repeat the history of her former “self” - she also lacks any sort of weapons, and does not trust herself with firearms after having contemplated suicide. She is not a particularly skilled fighter.
History:
Mary Sheperd-Sunderland was, in better days, a thoughtful and loving person, happily devoted to her husband James. However, she began to grow ill, which eventually began to effect her outlook and mood, until eventually her life was taken.
Sometime later, James found a letter from Mary, instructing him to find her in Silent Hill. Believing through his sorrow he may see his wife one more time, James travelled to the town for his journey. He had not been in the town long when he met Maria, whom he initially mistook for his wife, due to their strikingly similar physical appearences and voices. Maria is, in actuality, a reincarnation of sorts of Mary, created by James’ desire to see his wife again. The variations on Mary’s personality embody what James could not attain or have during his time with Mary, specifically during her illness.
Maria has some awareness of the nature of her existence, and was initially so overwhelmed by the knowledge she briefly considered suicide with a revolver she had found. However, she experienced a change of heart that motivated her to find both James, and her own purpose and identity.
Through out her time in the town with James, she was killed on multiple occasions by
Pyramid Head, a demon personifying James' guilt. However, due to the nature of James' psyche, after each occasion she "woke up" again, returning to a normal state and unaware of what had happened, feeling simply as though she'd experienced blackouts. However, upon awakening from the most recent slaughter she underwent, she has found herself in a destroyed and abandoned Manhatten...
