Dear Yuletide Author,
Hello! Thank you so much for writing a lovely story for me - I know I’ll love it! ♥ This is my first ever Yuletide (after lurking for years and being too nervous to participate), so I’m quite excited. I know you are awesome and have good taste if we matched for something! :) Anyway, like I said, I know I’ll love whatever you write. I’m easy to please. You can write for the prompt I mention, or alternatively, do whatever inspires you if you have a great idea! Go for it!
I love (all of these are not applicable to every fandom, they are just general likes so you can get an idea of things I enjoy): UST/pining, complex relationships, snarky banter, AUs - whether the canon-divergent type (!!!) or a different setting (minus high school AU), found families, partners in crime, unreliable narrators, angst, hurt/comfort, kisses, bed sharing, world building, character development, getting-together fics, people who suddenly realize oops! I like this person and it becomes more, situations where people are a complete mess and it takes some trials and tribulations to get together and admit their feelings, enemies to friends to lovers, co-dependency, fix-it fics. In addition, I don’t have a burning desire for a certain format (POV or epistolary vs long narrative or whichever), so do whatever inspires you!
No thank you: mpreg, a/b/o verse, kid!fic, underage, watersports/scat, non-con, misogyny, high school AUs, suicide, daddy/mommy kink, character bashing (but it’s totally understandable for instance if in the fic itself the character Hamilton is whining about how Jefferson is the worst), and while I normally do love a good ol’ PWP for the purposes of Yuletide I would like a some plot.
Sexy stuff: if you’re so inclined, but not required! no pressure! I like anything from awkward first times to heated and violent, I like it all - as I said, I’m easy to please. Some specifics: hair pulling, biting, orgasm delay, blindfolds, breathplay, frottage, coming in pants, rough sex. I love love love it when characters are so into that they just can’t keep their hands off each other. Yessss. But really, I'm pretty easy to please, as long as it doesn't go into one of my Do Not Wants.

Whiplash
• Andrew Neiman and Terence Fletcher
any exploration of these two guys and how they are inextricably a part of each others’ lives, with the awfulness and jazz and intensity
Ever since I watched this movie in February, it has consumed by thoughts - ask anyone who has talked to me since then and you’ll know that I am a wee bit obsessed. I just love everything about this movie, e v e r y t h i n g. I love the jazz atmosphere, I love the quick pace at which the events unfold, I love how at first you think it’s a simple message about working hard to achieve your goals but once you think about it you’re like oh and it’s actually a very dark ending, and I love the fucked-up relationship between Andrew and Fletcher. The fact that in the end, Andrew’s accomplishments are measured by Fletcher’s approval, and he has totally sold his soul to him. And I fucking love it. Not to mention that it's been mentioned by various people that they read the film homoerotic, as well as the actors and director.
Andrew/Fletcher is my jam. I have looked into the darkness, and I have never looked back. If you aren’t for shipping them, that’s okay, I still love the messed-up mentor/student relationship they have in the movie. But if it moves you, I ship it hard. You can include sex or not - really, I love the tension and their interactions, so I am okay with whatever! For this, you can go into kink stuff (light to medium BDSM, or any of the ones I meanioned before, or really, most things as long as it doesn't hit a Do Not Want), play up that 40-year age difference, whatever you feel like! I'm game for anything, really, although the only thing I'd like to avoid reading about with these two is daddy kink.
Some random ideas: post-film what happens - does Andrew immediately start working with Fletcher? Do they go their separate ways until they realize they have to stick together because nobody understands their vision of jazz? What happens that makes them end up fucking each other (hatesex!)? Does Andrew really die in his thirties due to an overdose (as said in interviews by the film’s director), or does Andrew toe the line and Fletcher has to smack him back in shape? Or: AUs!!! I will love exploring these guys in any situation that you can think of (I’m being honest, you could write something as mundane as them waiting for roadside assistance and I’ll be pleased as punch).
Hamilton - Miranda

these guys are obsessed with each other
Like everyone else, I am totally preoccupied with this musical, and I’ve been listening to the cast recording for weeks now (sadly, I haven’t been able to see the show live yet), and I haven’t been reading this much about history since I was in AP US History nine years ago. I adore it and I’m sure every time I talk about it I look lovesick over it. I love the music, I love the fusion of the modern with the history, I love the creativity, I love how every time I listen to it I discover something new (Lin-Manuel Miranda, you are a genius). All the characters are so great and I love all their interactions, and I would read anything about them.
That said, you see I list two particular characters up there - I would really really like to read something about Hamilton and Burr. And because I am who I am, I ship it (I can feel my eleventh grade teacher scowling at me). I love their never-quite- friendship that dissolves into doom. They are kind of obsessed with each other and the way the play unfolds it makes it so they are always close to each other but they never like, fully make it, you know? There are so many times they just miss each other - so many misunderstandings, so many damaged paths, so many times where if they just talked a little bit more (talk less doesn’t always work, does it?). Gah.
If you aren’t feeling the slash, I am okay with friendship/enemyship/what have you. But! If you do write them as slash, that’s awesome! Some random prompts (which by no means feel obligated to fill, but they’re some things I’ve been thinking about the past couple of weeks): them having a heated argument late at night which leads to them kissing just to shut each other up, desk!sex in their offices, Burr subtly trying to give hints to Hamilton that he’s DTF because he heard rumors about Hamilton and Laurens but he doesn’t want to be too overt because he doesn’t want to make a fool of himself, Hamilton trying to ~seduce Burr to helping him with the Federalist Papers, Hamilton writing Burr dirty dirty letters that make Burr blush, the two of them complaining about Jefferson. Another prompt: what if Burr’s “I’m a trust fund, baby” line worked on Angelica and they end up getting married, and Burr would get jealous at Angelica and Hamilton’s relationship - that is until one of them (Angelica, probably) comes up with the solution: threesome. OR Eliza beats some sense into the two of them, and makes them sort things out with a threesome. I’m also here for AUs (complex or mundane ones), or canon-divergence - what if the duel didn’t happen, what if Burr didn’t shoot before he saw Hamilton threw away his shot, what if Hamilton survived??? Does Hamilton forgive him? Can they ever reconcile? Or do they finally talk about things they’ve needed to talk about for ages and get things sorted? After Hamilton heals, do he and Burr become an unstoppable political force? I don’t know, I just need more of these guys.
Laverne and Shirley
• optional: Laverne DiFazio, Shirley Feeney, Lenny Kosnowski, Andrew Squiggman
a story about the four friends being closeted, but they pair off into pretend guy/lady relationships with each other so they can hide their true relationships because 1960’s America sucks about that kind of thing; it works most of the time (except the times they annoy the hell out of each other)
This is my long shot fandom, but oh my god, I love it so much! I remember watching it when I was a kid but I rewatched it all not too long ago, and with my adult fandom-addled brain, my immediate thought after I watched about one season of it was: everyone is gay! I mean, if you watch it with that context...when they think they’re about to die, Shirley kisses Laverne, and Lenny and Squiggy have a very um, unique relationship (like, remember when Squiggy got so upset and possessive of Lenny when Lenny had a serious girlfriend??? and at one point in the show they end up kissing too), and if you want to look at things with the slash goggles context they all could be acting so hot for the opposite gender because they’re overcompensating for their homosexuality/bisexuality. SO that said, what I’d love is for there be the relationships of Laverne/Shirley and Lenny/Squiggy, but because it’s 1960’s America they have to keep that secret and between the four of them they cover for each other, and become each others' beards, or whatever (I guess technically Shirley could use Carmine but he wouldn’t know, but whichever way you’d like). But, so much could happen: one/more of them having a “crisis” or whatever about the whole thing, pining if they aren’t getting together right away (I love pining in fic, oh my god), what about when they move from Milwaukee to California - are they able to live more freely with their relationships? There are so many things! (The only thing I ask is if you do go this route, don’t handwave away the homophobia that would be during that time; it keeps it more realistic and plus - more angst! (I love angst, if I haven’t made that clear already, I’m trash, ha)).
But if you only want to include one of the couples, or don’t want to do that prompt at all, that’s totally fine! I will be overjoyed with anything for this fandom because I love everything about it (I also love love love the friendship between these characters) and I would love anything to add to the dearth of fic for this fandom <3 My love of found families can go here because even though they may all bicker and get mad with each other, these four always have each others backs when it counts.
Band of Brothers
• Lewis Nixon, Richard Winters
anything about these two trying to “sort things out”
Right away I’m mentioning I’m talking about the fictionalized versions, not the actual guys. I wasn't the one to nominate this fandom but I must say I was STOKED!!!! when I saw it because I love it so much! And oh my god, these two...every time I re-watch the miniseries I am overwhelmed at how much I LOVE these two! Like, it almost physically pains me how much I ship them. I love Nixon’s aloof and give-no-fucks attitude and juxtaposed against Winter’s prim and proper attitude, and how together they just click and are snarky and so great together. They always look at each other in such a way that makes me vibrate out of my skin. Here is a really good picspam that summarizes my feelings because I can't be coherent tbh about Winters and Nixon.
If you’d rather write it as friendship, that’s fine too, but if you’re okay with writing slash, go for it! Also, I would love including other characters as well (because I love the entirety of Easy Company). Things I cannot get enough of: huddling for warmth in foxholes, being separated and then reunions (absence makes the heart grow fonder), finding abandoned houses to fuck in, and!!! did Nixon take Winters to New Jersey after the war? did Winters go to Chicago? did Winters get the farm he wanted, and Nixon lived with him there and Winters got him as many dogs as he wanted? write me these things! Whatever it is you write for these guys, I'm 100% sure I'll love it.

anything about these brothers who “kind of like each other”
Okay, I am not usually a fan of incest...but these two. U G H, my secret (well, not-so-secret) ship. The Bluths are one messed up family, and I love these two the most. They are both so self-destructive and gravitate towards awfulness. I feel like out of all the family members, these two understand each other most? For sure, Michael is the only one who pays any sliver of attention to Gob - and Gob, who feeds on that. And um, their relationship is a bit close to the inappropriate? (that wasn’t a bird in your pants Gob, Gob making a mix CD for Michael that was basically a romantic gesture). Ahem.
I would love anything about these two exploring that taboo-aspect. It doesn’t even have to lead to sex, just the acknowledgment that there’s something there that they can’t exactly name (Gob’s problem) and doesn’t want to name (Michael’s problem). Does one of them know it before the other, and tries to tell the other? Or do they tell the other and everything turns into a clusterfuck? And if you want to acknowledge season 4, once Gob learns of his not-so-straight feelings for others, does he realize “oh fuck, I am in love with my brother?” and does Michael become so self-hating that he finally gives in? How does it happen??? And if they do initiate a relationship, how do they keep it from their family? Does Michael convince Gob to move away to Arizona with him?
