Nana

May 06, 2005 18:24

Today I visited with nana and the end is near - she has stopped eating, her kidneys are shutting down and she is disoriented. The nurses feel she won't last through Mother's Day - but we have to remember this is God's time, not ours. I sat in her room and reminisced about the wonderful years we have had - she has been a good mother, putting up with ( Read more... )

Mimi, I am saddended in many ways but elated in others to hear Nana is nearing the end of her life's journey. There is no way to sum up in this LJ post what a wonderful Wife, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Grandmother In Law this wonderful woman has been, not to mention such a testimony to life! She was the perfect grandmother and shared her love to our Lord, Jesus Christ daily. She never spoke harsh words towards anyone, this is not indicating that she was not opinionated though!!!! She always had her opinion but had the most dainty, polite way of letting one know.....recently Jessica shared with me that when she brought a former boyfriend over to meet Nana and told Nana he was an Auburn fan, Nana patted him on the hand and told Rob, she would forgive him....LOL! What a wonderful delightful woman with a great since of life and humor. She will be missed by many, many people. She has lived a long fruitful life and yes, it is time for her journey to the Lord's home. She will be with those you mentioned that have ( ... )

thanks Kim, for your lovely and comforting thoughts, and also for the lovely mother's day card you sent. This will indeed be a most emotional weekend for me, as well as others. I miss Michael terribly, but I can see him and Pops sitting in some rockers on a fluffy cloud just waiting to greet Nana. Now I know that's not very theological, but it's most comforting to me. She is indeed a very special person, and He threw away the mold when He made her. When we left The Murray House today she was calling for her sister, and speaking to Pops, plus she saw an angel at the foot of her bed! I'd say she is ready, and when it's right, it will happen. I'll let you know. Many thanks again for your kind words, they mean a great deal. Mimi

How are things? kpwtallygal May 11 2005, 22:54:26 UTC
Hello Mimi, what is the latest on Nana? I have not heard anything from the kids, so I am guessing you guys made it through Mother's Day ok? I hope you had a nice wonderful Mother's Day. It was a peaceful quiet one here. We went out to eat and that was nice. The girls looked really good and happy. We missed Jeremy being here but he was with us in spirit...he had bigger fish to fry as you know. Just wanted you to know I am still praying for you all, especially Nana.
