It's warm enough here now to cause me to lick my lips while reading your description of #44 - Blaugies Saison de l'Epeautre. And look at the head! Actually your entire post sure makes me thirsty. And a bit wistful as I realize the (what seemed at the time) rather tasty maibock in Gordon Biersch yesterday just isn't very interesting.

Yeah, I think the Blaugies would have benefited more by being drunk in a beer garden on a sunny day, fine though it was at the time. And if I have to try to find nice days to drink stuff then I could have a bit of a problem what with the weather over here. I think the last time I'd had a saison was in Antwerp and that was in a pub's courtyard on a gloriously sunny day, so I do manage to get it right sometime.
I had a maibock the other week that Meike brought back from Germany for me and that was a bit of a disappointment too. Maybe sticking to Einbecker is a good idea.
