As some of you may know, I've just been to Belgium for a couple of days. So, this'll be me writing about that then? Er, no. This'll be me writing about a trip back in November. Yes, I'm that crap at keeping this stuff up to date. So...

"Beer is the answer" was the motto of the bar. It was probably in the menu somewhere. I think beer is a better explanation than 42, at the very least.

Ah, you'd think I'd remember that, especially as I've just been there again. Did I mention I'd been to Belgium?

Amongst the fine stuff they had on tap was the Jandrain-Jandrenouille VI, a wheat beer, but I didn't get around to that. I may well crack open a bottle of the IV Saison that came back with me tonight though. I seem to be on a bit of a saison roll.

And it is a good answer, too!

My beer today was merely ok - the raspberry hefewiezen that's become the stock beer for my group. I could have gotten a Budwieser for free, but it was too expensive.

That sounds perfectly decent as a "merely OK" beer. They'd have to pay a lot before a Budweiser becomes not too expensive.

Incidentally, have you come across Stillwater brewery? I had an excellent beer from them this week. Brewed in Baltimore by the looks of it.

I haven't, but I'll look for it.

Yes, the raspberry hefe is a perfectly decent beer, calling it ok isn't fair. Almost everything Schalfy makes is fine beer, except when they decide to do a spiced beer. Those are not good, at least to my pallet.
