Displeased with some things that are happening out at the farm. For one thing, my mother got a round bale for Jax to eat. She had her reasons--her normal hay supplier had no more alfalfa, the tasty kind of hay which is the only kind Jax will eat, except in round bale form--but she's always told me that round bales, which are nearly as tall as I am, aren't good for horses because they're more liable to mold, which can cause colic, which can cause death. It's alright for cows because their stomachs are a bit more ironclad. She has it sheltered underneath the shed, though, instead of sitting out in the pasture for the horses to eat whenever they like, and pulls chunks off every day for him. Maybe the mold won't be such a problem if it isn't out in the weather. I don't know.

The other thing is, Jax got rainrot, a kind of fungus that grows on a horse's skin, and therefore both his rainsheets had to be washed while he gets medicated shampoo. DM washed the one rainsheet, but apparently folded it up and put it away while it was damp on the inside, because when Mom tried to put it on him last night it was still damp. And she didn't notice, and I had to mention he'd be shivering all night to get us to put Calee's blanket on him instead. I hate being the reasonable one, sometimes. What the hell, DM? Damp blankets are NOT okay.
