I just watched a Star Trek Next Generation episode, the one where Riker, bubbling over with enthusiasm about the women he'd met during his stays on Risa, convinces Picard to go on vacation there, and Picard meets the sexily unscrupulous archaeologist Vash, and I was thinking about the differences between the women Riker likes and those Picard likes. Riker goes for the friendly, sensual women, while Picard takes the exciting, intelligent ones. And I was dismayed to discover that Riker would probably like me better than Picard would, which is a shame, because I don't like Riker, while Picard is awesome. And there's nothing to be done about that.
